Blue Ribbon's 58th Street location is a series of rooms and a long sushi bar tucked inside a boutique hotel (6 Columbus Hotel). Chefs, occasionally shouting Japanese greetings, prepare the raw fish in attractive presentations, such as braided sardines, pink-and-red sashimi plates and clams served in a decorative shell.
Non-sushi menu selections include bone-in rib steak with teriyaki sauce, and grilled dorado with radish salad. A popular desert is the Chocolate Bruno (Blue Ribbon-speak for mousse cake). The location is ideal: across from Columbus Circle, Central Park and the Time Warner Center.
